Social Media Today

Almost every person these days is involved with social media. It started of with mostly younger people now everybody of every age is using social media. Social media is used for enjoyment and connecting with other near to you or far away. There is over 3 billion active internet users and nearly 2.1 billion people have social media accounts. Social media has become away to connect with the people you don't see everyday or to meet new people from anywhere. We have become a internet based society and social media is a huge party of that. Social media is worldwide and there are 1.65 billion active mobile social accounts globally which is why people can connect word wide. Social media is taking over our world.

Twitter

The first step in having a successful a to simply make an account. Making an account is simple, all you have to do I plug your info in where needed then you can get started.  After you make the account you can pic a twitter header picture and a profile picture. Neither of them are permanent, they are easy to change at anytime. Then after you make your twitter look pretty you can start fining people and companies to follow. When on your home screen click the person outline in the top left corner so you can find people to follow, or you can click the magnifying glass  in the top right corner. By clicking that you can search for anybody you wish the follow. Twitter is an easy way to connect with people for all over.

SnapChat pt 2

Now that you have a friend base and people to snap you are already to go! So once you open your app you will see the picture taking screen so pose for your selfie and take the picture by clicking the large circle on the bottom of the screen. The top left symbol turns the flash on and off. The top right symbol changes it from front camera to the back camera. After you take your selfie you can scroll left or right to get filters for your pictures. Once your picture is all set you click the bottom right arrow and it will take you to your friends list. You can send it to as many people as you want. Fun Fact: Depending on your location there will be geo tags for your snap

SnapChat

Snapchat is a newer social media app that is used more commonly by younger people, but can be used by anyone. The first step after making an Snap account is going to the picture taking screen and clicking on the small ghost on top. Then click "Add Friends" then click "Add from Address Book" and you will have the option to add anyone you want from your cell phones contacts that has their number sinked up to their Snapchat. After you've gone through that list you can go back and click "Add by Username" and if you know of your friends username you can just type it in and add them. If you do both those things you will have a solid Snapchat friend base to start and you can always add people after or people can add you and you can either accept or deny their friend request. Snapchat fun fact: The app was first created to send inappropriate photos of yourself to others. Instead friends use it to see what others are doing by Snapchatting them or posting a story.

New Idea

As I've been trying to collect my thoughts for my project I was thinking about some other posts I could make because there are only so many popular social media sites that I want to talk about. I started thinking about this after the whole debate between the blue/black or white/gold dress on twitter. I was thinking that when a huge twitter craze starts up again I could talk about it on my blog and explain what was happening. Since twitter spreads new stuff like wild fire I think it would be cool to express my thoughts and feelings on it on this blog. So the real question is...is the dress black/blue or white/gold?

Intro

Social media is a huge part of our generation and culture. Within in this blog I was to expose different tips and tricks when using social media. Different media sights have more then one use and can be used by everybody and anybody. Social media is a powerful tool that everyone should try and use.
